An acolyte is one who assists or follows. Our acolytes assist the celebrant in a religious service or procession. Both adults and children are needed to serve at all three church services (8:00 am, 10:15 and 5:30 pm).
Boys and girls may begin serving at age 8. Training sessions are provided twice a year. Acolytes provide leadership during the service in several ways, including lighting the candles, presenting the flag, and assisting the priest during the Eucharist celebration. All interested adults and children are invited to join and are expected to complete the training.
